Anyone feeling ArTsY?
The picture says it all....
By purchasing "oops paint" from either Home Depot or Lowes you can save up to 90% off of retail price. My mom and I LOVE finding cool colors of paint and then using it to re-do a piece of furniture.
SPA DAY!
Yesterday I decided to treat myself well by booking a spa day! I know you all are thinking "woah, cheapy actually spent money?" I did folks! Only $25 though for a facial and an hour massage :) It was SPECTACULAR! UCMT offers massages or other various treatments ranging from $5-$25 for a full body massage. I buy the gift certificates and therefore it knocks my cost in half.
Please use this attached coupon and get yourself all pampered up.
It MUST be luck....
My appliances arrived yesterday.... wahoooo!!! I am just about done cooking my chicken fingers in the microwave and SO ready to actually use my cute mugs, plates, bowls, etc. that I bought like 3 years ago. In my defense folks... washing dishes by hands is not ideal to say the least. Anywho, back to my fancy new appliances. I answered the door wearing a bathrob and a soaken wet dog and this being the case could very well could be why I was able to snag such a deal, but who knows. After the two dudes were done bringing in my dishwasher and OTR microwave they noticed that the stainless steel range had a tiny little scratch on the front. (Honestly I could not even see the thing). Anyways, I worked my negotiating skills and was able to get these gentleman to call their supervisor to clear yet another discount on my behalf! I merely mentioned that my life savings went to these 3 pieces for my kitchen and the fact that one of em was damaged goods kind of put a damper on things. They of course felt bad and therefore hooked me UP!!! By doing this I was able to get Lowes to put $70 back on my credit card. Good thing I asked, right? And just between you and I, I would have have kept the range even without the discount ;)
Stay tuned for more pictures of my appliances after they are all installed....
Also, everyone is invited to my official "Use EVERY Dish in my House Party". It will be EPIC!

The other night I was talking to some friends about my Blog and some ideas they thought would be cool if I were to implement them into my process. Spencer Knaphus suggested that I also allow him the opportunity to "guest appear" in my Blog (the kid is HILARIOUS... enough said). Nonetheless, I though what a brillant plan to have others share their tips and ideas.
You will not want to miss Spencer Knaphus's "guest appearance" on how speaking up to manufacturers when you are not completely satisfied can truly benefit you as well as save you money. I anticipate his words of advice to be highly inspirational for all of us!

Ain't That The Truth....
Have you ever thought about how most really wealthy people are extremely frugal?
In my personal experience with my own father I can attest to this notation. The man, bless his heart, dresses somewhat like a homeless person at times (I sure hope he never reads this, ha ha). He likes to sport around in sweat pants and a t-shirt. So, one would never guess that has done very well for himself. My dad was able to retire from a well-known pharmaceutical company when he was in his early 40's. He has since then bought countless properties and flipped them. His most recent purchase was up in Deer Valley at the St. Regis!! Ya, basically AMAZING to say the least. There is a freaking TV inside the bathroom mirror! In order for my dad to be able to afford such elaborate condos he has had to be very smart and cautious with where he spends his money. I honestly think it is like a gene that is embedded into my siblings and I.... "the thrifty gene". At times it truly can be exhausting to always being weighing the pros and cons of EVERY purchase. Nonetheless, I honestly believe that wealthy people get ahead by being well aware of their money and the places in which it is spent or saved. I snatched the picture below from my The Funicular (a gondola on the side of the mountain) ride up to the resort. PS apparently Oprah Winfrey stayed at The St. Regis this past week for Sundance.
My take-away tip from this Blog post is to make yourself aware of how each and every purchase will effect your budget. Stay focused on having a large sum in savings by truly paying attention to every single purchase you make! I say we all one day own super fancy condos and sip tea with Oprah Winfrey, ha ha ha.... till next time**

Dine For FREE!
By using the Happenings Book we were able to have a super fun girl's dinner and also save money. The next time you are at a family party ask your cousins if they are selling these fabulous little books to raise money for their schools. Not only only will you be helping out the kiddies, but you will be saving a ton of money. I always keeps mine in the car and try and use them when I am out and about. It is fun to try new places and be able to justify eating out.
Another great way to be able to eat out and save money is to take advantage of the in house cards they offer. For example; Cafe Rio's punch card, Paradise Bakery's points card, SBUX's Gold Card (which happens to be my ALL time favorite one). I am very diligent about keeping these cards with me to ensure that I reap my points/benefits after earning them. I can honestly say that I have probably received 100 FREE meals/drinks in the past years just by using my own as well as combining them with ones that others felt were a waste to hang on to. At first it can truly seem like such an extra hastle to keep all these cards, but the little effort it takes to do so will benefit in the long run.
**We went to www.paradisebakery.com with Chris and Crystal and you better believe that I used my points card!
My boyfriend and I actually talked about this today, how just by doing the little things each month such as: buying gas from www.Costco.com, clipping coupons, turning unused lights off in the home, etc. will add up! I started a monthly budget when I first moved out and over the past three years I try to add new ideas of how I can cut costs out of it.... I like to call it "trimming off the excess fat".
This week implement one of my ideas into your routine and watch your pocketbook grow!

Traveling on a Budget!
Last night my brother-in-law (well kind of :) was browsing through my Facebook pics and he saw that I recently went to Europe! He text me asking how I was able to afford such a costly adventure given the Real Estate Market being super tough right now and therefore putting a damper in my income. In all honesty though I was able to travel to 3 countries in 12 days for under $2k. That amount included EVERYTHING; train pass, flight from Italy to Paris, flight from Paris to Switzerland, food, souvenirs, exhibit tickets.... literally the whole trip! Granted my friend Casey Tomasiak and I are both super frugal, thus resulting in our ability to make this budget work. In all honesty though I felt like all in all I saw everything and more that I had my heart set out to see. To keep costs down on food we ate at the markets in Europe a lot rather than dining out and paying the ridiculous $10 for WATER surcharge. We also booked our flight in the mid-week rather than on a weekend day. By doing this we saved $200 off of our flight. It is extremely important to watch flight costs DAILY because they really do fluctuate that often. Also, if possible try to be flexible on the dates. Traveling on off dates help save a ton too! We unfortunately had to travel over a holiday and therefore this raised our airfare a little bit. Case was able to use his frequent flyer miles that he has accumulated from work traveling as well as American Express purchases to pay for his flight to Europe!!! The kid truly is the guru for traveling.
Here are several tips I have gathered for everyone looking to travel; whether it be exotic or even close to home, travelling does not have to cost you an arm and a leg.
Ideas to travel and still SAVE!
Tips for Travel
Saving Money on the Expensive Part of Travel.... Airfare!
Travel Tip Tuesday
Another great way to take advantage of flying for free is to do like Casey did and use your frequent flyer miles to put towards flights. I have been saving mine and I already 50,000 points. My mom likes to use hers, 250,000 miles, and puts them towards a BIG family trip!!

5 Money Saving Tips Provided by Bria
I can totally vouch for the tip on organizing receipts and tracking where each and every dollar goes. My friend Nicole teases me that I never commit to buying anything without the use of a coupon or discount of some sort. It is very true! I will not buy anything at retail price; rather I will research the particular item and find a coupon or discount to justify the purchase. Not only does it make the buying process more fun, but I also save money!

Bria Has Testimonials~
Breanne was wanting to take her fiance' to dinner at Mimi's Cafe, so she contacted me for a good deal. I was SUPER excited for this mission and wanted to make their night as special as possible. I called out to the Mimi's in Murray on State Street and asked to talk to a manager. By contacting the manager and doing a little sucking up to her I was able to snag Breanne and her man a $5 off coupon, free desert, and 8 PM reservations! Cherilynn (the manager) also is sending me $10 off coupons for my followers of my Blog!
Breanne emailed some of their pictures to document their night! I was literally DYING laughing when I saw these. Thanks so much guys, I am glad you had fun!
